Dom Rep passes law to protect people with autism

Santo Domingo, May 11 (Prensa Latina) The Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic approved a bill on Thursday for the care, inclusion, and protection of people with an autism spectrum disorder. A commission analyzed the proposal of Senators Franklin Rodriguez and Dionis Sanchez, and it will now pass to a commission for a second reading.

The bill aims to assist these persons by protecting and guaranteeing their rights and satisfying their needs.

The State is obliged to provide individuals with autism medical services through National Health Insurance.
