On a tweet, the Foreign Ministry celebrated the date and noted that Cuba enjoys a legal standard that, for the first time, makes “law and love” coexist.
The International Family Day is marked on May 15 every year to raise awareness about the key role of families in the education of children from early childhood, and the lifelong learning opportunities that exist for boys, girls and young people.
The Cuban Family Code was approved by the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament) on July 22, 2022, and was endorsed in a popular referendum on September 25, with 66.85 percent of valid votes.
