Human trafficking, the cause of deaths in messianic sect in Kenya

cadaveres-500x342
Nairobi, May 15 (Prensa Latina) The lack of organs in some of the bodies recovered during the investigation into a messianic sect in Kenya on Monday shows new clues about the possibility of well-coordinated human trafficking, involving several stockholders.

According to a report published in this capital, some of the exhumed bodies lack organs, which does not rule out the hypothesis that the heads of the congregations under investigation were involved in this heinous business.

More than 100 corpses, mostly of children, have been found during the investigation into the so-called Shakahola Forest Massacre, the revelation of which has made headlines in local media and aroused rejection by the population.

According to the autopsies performed on 112 bodies, most of the victims died of starvation, probably after having followed the preaching of Paul Nthenge Mackenzie, a self-proclaimed pastor of the International Church of the Good News, who advocated fasting to find Jesus.

It was also learned that some of the victims, including children, were strangled, beaten or suffocated, as reported last week by the head of forensic operations, Johansen Oduor.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday requested the freezing of the bank accounts of Pastor Ezequiel Odero, who was arrested on April 28 for this case and released on bail.
