Moscow criticizes Scholz’s interference in Russian-Ukrainian issues

senador-ruso-Victor-Bondarev
Moscow, May 15 (Prensa Latina) The position of German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Russia’s position on peace in Ukraine is an interference in bilateral relations between Moscow and Kiev, Russian Senator Viktor Bondarev declared.

According to the legislator, who holds the post of head of the Defense and Security Committee of the Federation Council (Upper House of the Russian Parliament), “such statements by a German statesman are a gross interference, incitement and intrigue, in Russian-Ukrainian bilateral relations, .”

For Bondarev, such comments from foreign politicians push Ukraine towards the prosecution of the conflict; he advised Scholz to study the history of his own country and analyse the catastrophe to which Nazism leads.

“In fact, Russia’s conditions do not imply anything criminal in relation to the Ukrainian people,” the senator said, explaining that Moscow is in favor of “the complete demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, for its non-inclusion in military blocs, and for the preservation of new territories within Russia”.

(Russia) will not allow the imposition of a peace agreement under unacceptable conditions for the Kremlin, Bondarev said.

On May 14th, at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Scholz said that Kiev was ready to come to a peaceful solution, but not on Russia’s terms, and stated that Ukraine was opposed to freezing the conflict and peace conditions on the part of Moscow; he also said that Germany, together with its partners, will try to hold Russia accountable for actions in Ukraine.
