Cuba reports 43 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, May 18 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Health (MINSAP) on Thursday reported 43 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of contagions to 111 at present.

Until May 17, 31 patients were discharged, and the number of recovered people rose to 1,105,060.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020, 1,113,760 citizens have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The report states that no one died due to the disease, so the death toll remains at 8,530.

MINSAP added that two patients, one seriously ill and one critical, are being treated in intensive care units.

According to MINSAP, 90.7 percent of the Cuban population has been fully vaccinated, while 8,727,965 people have been administered booster doses of Cuba’s homegrown vaccines.
