Cuban doctors in Belize pay tribute to José Martí

Belmopán, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Members of the ¨Camilo Cienfuegos¨ medical brigade serving in in the city of San Ignacio, Belize, on Friday paid tribute to the National Hero José Martí on the 128th anniversary of his fall in combat.

The site chosen for the tribute was José Martí Street, in the city of Benque Viejo del Carmen, named after the Cuban hero since 2017 by the Mayor’s Council.

According to a press release issued by the Cuban embassy in Belize, the patriotic activity in homage to the “most universal of Cubans” recalled José Martí´s stay in this country alongside his father on a work trip to Guatemala.

Martí lives with us and in spite of his fall in combat 128 years ago, his ideology was inspiration for the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz in order to make January 1, 1959, a reality.
