Russia and Cuba sign agreements at Business Committee forum

Havana, May 19 (Prensa Latina) Russia and Cuba on Friday signed eight bilateral documents at the closing of the 11th Meeting of the Business Committee between both countries, which was attended by President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero.

During the closing ceremony, Boris Titov, chairman of the Russian side of the Business Committee, and his Cuban counterpart, Rafael Ernesto Lage Perez, signed the minute of the 11th session.

Meanwhile, the director of the Cuban Economic Research Institute, Aizel Llanes Fernandez, and the director of the Stolypin Institute of Growth Economics, Anton Sviridenko, penned a memorandum of the third session of the Macroeconomics Working Group.

Furthermore, the president of the Havana Science and Technology Park, Rafael Torralbas Ezpeleta, and the executive director of the Sverbank Regulatory Center, Andrei Neznamov, initialed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

During the ceremony, ALIMPORT President Alejandro Mustelier and PRODINTORG Deputy General Director Mikhail Potapov inked a contract to supply wheat to Cuba.

Likewise, the president of CIMEX Corporation, Hector Oroza Busutil, and the general director of CGS Investments, Alexander Beltchikov, signed a deal for the development of the RUSMARKET joint venture.

Busutil and Beltchikov also signed a letter of intent for the constitution and development of an international Economic Association in the Tarara area and another one for the development of a commercial project in the Santo Angel property.

Busutil and the president of Cuba Ron Company, Orlando Borrero Elias, signed a letter of intent for enhancing the Cardenas rum joint venture, at a ceremony where Russian products from food, construction and high technology industries were also exhibited.

Before the closing ceremony, Diaz-Canel and Marrero visited the aforementioned exhibitions, where they talked with Russian specialists and were interested in applying Russian technologies in Cuba.

The deputy PM and co-chairman of the Russian side of the Intergovernmental Commission for economic-commercial and scientific-technical collaboration, Dmitri Chernyshenko, participated in the ceremony. He met on Thursday with the Cuban head of State.
