ataques-Burkina-Faso
Ouagadougou, May 22 (Prensa Latina) Fifteen people were killed in a new attack by alleged jihadists in eastern Burkina Faso, local sources reported.

An armed group attacked the suburbs of Kompienga, capital of the province of the same name, and killed 15 people on Sunday, most of whom were shepherds who were also robbed of their livestock, according to witnesses.

Burkina Faso, a coastless West African country, was the scene of two military coups last year and, is experiencing continuous jihadist attacks against its peasant population just like in neighboring Mali and Niger.

Recently the President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traoré, decreed a year-long general mobilization to face the attacks of these armed groups.

Over the past few years this country has suffered an increase in violence by people linked to Al Qaeda and the Islamic State that has left thousands of civilians and soldiers dead.
