Cuba reports 23 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths

Havana, May 22 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Monday reported 23 new Covid-19 cases and no deaths as a consequence of the disease in the last 24 hours.

Until May 21, 23 patients were discharged, and the number of recovered people rose to 1,105,184.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020, 1,113,901 citizens have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

The Ministry added that the total death toll remains at 8,530.

The report stated that two patients are being treated in intensive care units: one is in critical condition, and one is seriously ill; 128 are confirmed active patients.

According to MINSAP, 90.7 percent of the Cuban population has been fully vaccinated, while 8,730,890 people have been administered booster doses of Cuba’s homegrown vaccines.
