In a statement to the press, its general director Morey Perez explained that they will hold special dinners, contests and tours to commemorate this important anniversary. He deems there are few hotels in Cuba and even worldwide that have been founded for that time and that still continue to provide services.
Morey Perez stressed, “It is a special occasion, 95 years are not celebrated every day and it will be a special pleasure to be in charge of the hotel on December 28, an entity with so much history known worldwide”, Perez recalled that since 1928 he was a pioneer adding he hopes to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this hotel, and many more, always in good working order.
So far, they plan to hold a dinner with a show in the pool on the last Friday of each month, in June a children’s painting contest -for the community’s children-, another contest of photography to highlight the heritage values of the hotel. In addition, another one of literature, whose main topic would be the facility.
They are furthermore planning a tour called Los Presidentes, a tour of the entire avenue where monuments to several illustrious leaders of Latin America are erected. Belonging to the Gran Caribe hotel group, the Hotel Presidente has a four-star category, and is currently managed by the Spanish chain ROC Hotels.
It was described as the first skyscraper in Havana and is a byword of elegance, distinguished by the presence of some 300 heritage works, and has 158 rooms. The Roc Hotel chain was founded in 1998 in Palmas de Mallorca and has been present in Cuba since 2013. It currently operates a total of six accommodations having four- and five-stars, located in Havana, Varadero and Santa Maria key.
