This event, which is traditionally organized by the Russian Embassy in Cuba in coordination with the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder) , has a distance of 3.7 kilometers and will be held with start and finish line at the Russian diplomatic headquarters in Havana.
“This race will be dedicated to all those who gave their best to rid the world of Nazism and fascism and where more than 27 million people lost their lives in the Soviet Union,” Sergei Oboznov, counselor of the Russian Embassy in Cuba said at a press conference.
As usual in this popular race, children, teenagers, young people, the elderly, and even people with physical disabilities, students of the Russian school in Havana, Russians living on the country and their families and members of the diplomatic corps will participate.
For his part, the second head of the National Commission of Marabana-Maracuba Races and Walks of INDER, Juan Carlos Mesa, stressed that this race is of great significance for the friendship between the two countries.
“With it we reaffirm that through sport, in a massive communication activity, it will unite us both peoples even more through a sports race,” Mesa commented.
