During their performances in Spain, the duo formed by Israel Rojas and Yoel Martinez, suffered harassment and threats from counterrevolutionary elements.
In addition to attempting to cancel the tour, this harassment is part of the boycott of Cuba and the U.S. empire’s media campaigns against Cuba, the solidarity movement pointed out.
Despite the hostility, the duo performed in the popular neighborhood of Nou Barris, Barcelona, and earlier in Mataró, Catalonia, and next June 3 they will offer a concert at the Marcelino Camacho Auditorium in Madrid.
In a publication of his Facebook profile, Rojas stated: “I am not a violent man. I am an apprentice composer. Today they wanted to drag me and Yoel Martínez, who is the noblest and most pacifist human being I know, to violence, and they barely succeeded”.
The composer thanked those men and women of solidarity who stepped in and called them to calm and others who without being of it were so cooperative because they knew that the aggressors sought to cancel the tour with a single blow.
