The head of State noted that Cuba has important and diverse links with Latin American and Caribbean nations, and with the EEU States that would allow forging solid and profitable ties between the countries of both regions.
Diaz-Canel added that the countries of the integration association are interested in increasing exchanges and that there is an opportunity to do so.
“As an observer member of the EEU, Cuba considers that meeting the growing and diverse needs of our countries can only be resolved by deepening trade and cooperation according to the potentialities offered by each country,” he emphasized.
Currently, there are possibilities to increase trade among our nations in fields such as food and energy security, investment in industrial and technological development, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and human resources training, he added.
Diaz-Canel confirmed that a Cuban delegation, headed by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, will attend the UEE Council of Heads of Government in Sochi, Russia, next June.
