From #Cuba, an embrace to sister #Argentina on another anniversary of the #MayRevolution, the Cuban leader wrote on his Twitter profile.
After a series of events promoted by patriots such as Manuel Belgrano, Cornelio Saavedra, Juan Jose Antonio Castelli and Antonio Luis Beruti in the Viceroyalty of Rio de la Plata, whose capital was Buenos Aires, on May 25, 1810, Viceroy Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros was deposed.
This event allowed the establishment of the first Creole Government in the Cabildo and the territory known as the United Provinces of Rio de la Plata was established.
As a tribute to these events and their leaders, Argentineans celebrate every year the Fatherland’s Fatherland with numerous political and cultural activities that begin on the evening of May 24.
