A gift of Rumba at the National Theater of Cuba

Havana, May 29 (Prensa Latina) The cultural site La Papeleta says that the title of the show that will be presented next Saturday and Sunday at the Covarrubias hall of the National Theater, in this capital is "Los fieles amantes de La Rumba".

Rumba All-Stars, considered one of the exponents of the musical genre and dance style, declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) will be the main attraction of the show.

Rumba, considered an example of resistance and an essential element of identity carries in its songs rhythms and movements, the history of Cuba, showing traditions and Cuban roots.

Rumba is celebration, joy and fun, at the same time that it exhibits both sensuality and flirtation and the strength of the drums, songs and clapping, shakes the body and transmits energy.

These characteristics of the Rumba, a channel representing our nation and culture, were taken in consideration and declared part of the UNESCO list on November 2016

Born amidst the communities of maroons and slaves in the 19th century, this danceable musical genre is the basis of various Latin dances, such as salsa, timba, mambo, chachacha, among others.
