Drone attack damages several buildings in Moscow

Moscow, May 30 (Prensa Latina) Several buildings in Moscow suffered minor damage as a result of a drone attack on Tuesday, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, reported on his Telegram channel.

According to the official, emergency services were immediately mobilized to the affected areas.

Sobyanin stated that no serious injuries had been reported so far, and called on the population to trust only official sources and not to disseminate unverified information.

The mayor also reported that several stories in two of the buildings affected by the attack were evacuated for security reasons. “Once the special services have finished their work, the residents will be able to return to their apartments,” he promised.

Shortly before, the operational services reported that law enforcement agencies were checking information about explosions in two multi-storey residential buildings in the west and south-west of Moscow, as well as another building in New Moscow.

This is the first official news of a drone attack on Moscow since two UAVs exploded after being intercepted over the Kremlin on the night of May 2th-3rd. Russia blamed the attack on Ukraine.
