Panama’s health authorities investigate two influenza deaths

Panama City, May 30 (Prensa Latina) Panama's health authorities are presently investigating two influenza deaths and strongly recommended population accelerate vaccination.

According to a report from Health Ministry (MINSA), the influenza cases are expected to surge. Relevant studies are being conducted to learn about the death of a child under five and an adult.

Given such a situation, MINSA has highly recommended to vaccinate children under five, senior citizens, pregnant women, and people with chronic lung diseases.

According to Lourdes Moreno, MINSA´s Epidemiology Director, the AH1N1 and AH3N2 influenza spread continue to increase nationwide.
