Che Guevara’s daughter highlights Syrian people’s resistance

Damascus, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) Aleida Guevara, daughter of the heroic guerrilla Ernesto Che Guevara, praised the resistance and firmness of Syrians, in a message addressed to the people of this African nation released by the national news agency SANA on Saturday.

It is very easy to talk about the 12 years of war, and the question is to live this reality and face it every day, and the Syrian people have done very well and have won, the internationalist doctor said.

She noted that Syria now faces an even more difficult stage, recovery, and expressed confidence in the ability of Syrians to work and return what was destroyed as it was before and even better.

Thank you for resisting and thank you for existing, she concluded her message to the Syrian people.

Che’s daughter concluded a visit to Syria during which she was received and decorated by party and government authorities, as well as by representatives of several Palestinian forces and Syrian political parties.

Aleida was also in the great Umayyad Mosque, which was visited by her father in 1959, and by Fidel Castro in 2000, where the director of this Muslim historic monument, Essam Sukar, highlighted the validity of Che’s thought in Syria and throughout the world.

This is Aleida’s second visit to Damascus, after the one she paid in 2006 at the invitation of the Ministry of Information, when she was received by authorities and attended a series of mass events organized as tribute to Ernesto Guevara.
