Cuba to graduate new public health professionals

Camagüey, Cuba, Jun 5 (Prensa Latina) On the 43rd anniversary of the University of Medical Sciences of this city, Monday´s graduation ceremony of 79 new nursing graduates strengthens one of the provinces with the largest health infrastructure in the country.

Presenting several awards and recognitions emphasizes the commitment of a large group of health professionals internationally recognized.

For graduate Zairé Espinosa, “the work in communities and the high scientific rigor have allowed me to get the best results and experiences,” in which young nurses will have to face new challenges in and outside the country.

Juan Luis León, 24, told Prensa Latina that he assured that “before entering the university he was excited, knowing that he was going to have a career in public health, but he realized that it is about effort, feeling for others.”

Social commitment and conscious involvement are the leading factors for doctors and other public health professionals who graduate from several higher education centers in Cuba, including the Carlos J. Finlay University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey, founded by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
