El Salvador keeps control over Covid-19 with zero deaths

San Salvador, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) El Salvador’s Ministry of Public Health (MINSAL) on Tuesday reported that governmental authorities have kept control over the Covid-19, recording zero deaths from the coronavirus.

On Twitter, the health institution highlighted that on Monday “we did not register any deaths from #COVID19. We have won the battle against this disease,” which confirms the domestic trend towards a death toll attrition rate at the end of the first five months of 2023.

The death toll figure has been contained since January 2023, when the nation registered some 4,230 deaths from Covid-19, a disease recently removed from the maximum alert by the World Health Organization.

Likewise, the number of Covid-19 cases remained at 201,785 patients in a population of nearly 6,314,000 inhabitants.

In the case of the Vaccination Plan deployed at the national level, coverage of over 80 percent of the population was achieved; in addition to the screening and investigation system, that allows the early detection of feasible Covid-19 cases.
