Damascus, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) A delegation from the Nizhny Novgorod Regional District delivered humanitarian aid to several Syrian provinces.

The deputy governor of the aforementioned district, Peter Vitalievich Pannikov, signed several joint cooperation agreements with the Syrian governorship of Latakia in the spheres of medicine, economy, tourism and culture.

The Russian delegation delivered relief materials and gifts to the Children’s Psychological Therapy Center and several nursing homes in the city of Damascus. The lot included blankets, pillows, sanitary supplies, 150 packages of stationery items and children’s food, among others.

“We know that there are many needs in Syria, especially after the earthquake that devastated several provinces, and the gifts and help given reflect the great love of the people of Russia for the people of Syria,” said Nikolai Sukhov, director of the Russian cultural center in Damascus, where the aid was delivered.

According to Sukhov, the presents, whether they are for schools, hospitals or institutions, will have a positive impact on the lives of citizens and will have a beautiful effect on the children’s psyche.
