Sudanese army demands conditions to returning to peace talks

Khartoum, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) The Sudanese Army demanded Tuesday that the paramilitary forces withdraw from the civilian centers and facilities in this capital to resume talks in the Saudi city of Jeddah, with international mediation.

The measure was requested by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, chief of the Army, to Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, according to a press release from the high military command.

The information states that Al-Burhan told Minister Farhan that the rebels must leave hospitals, service centers, and homes and allow corridors to open for humanitarian aid.

This is the first response to a request by the mediators from Saudi Arabia and the United States to return to the negotiations to agree on a new humanitarian truce since the last one ended on Saturday.
