Caracas, Jun 11 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has ratified his unrestricted support to the peace talks that are advancing today in Colombia, after the agreements reached in Cuba between the Government and the National Liberation Army (ELN).

“We congratulate President Gustavo Petro and the ELN for the agreements reached in the third cycle of peace talks in Havana”, the dignitary wrote on his Twitter account.

“From Venezuela, as always, we ratify our unrestricted support for the dialogue process that contributes to achieving definitive and true peace in favor of the Colombian people,” he stressed.

On Friday, in a statement, on behalf of his government and the Venezuelan people, Maduro celebrated the signing of the agreements for the processes of society’s participation in the construction of peace and the bilateral, temporary and national ceasefire, reached in the day.

The text affirmed that this constitutes a definitive path for peace “in sister Colombia”.

The Bolivarian Republic as guarantor country “expresses its most unrestricted support” to President Gustavo Petro and his people for the firm will to promote total peace in the Neo-Granadian nation, the note indicated.

Government and ELN negotiators agreed last Friday in Havana, in the presence of Petro and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, on a bilateral ceasefire throughout the country and the readiness for the participation of society.

The document also included the definition of a fourth cycle of the Dialogue Table to be held in Venezuela between August 14 and September 4 of this year, in which a balance of the agreements adopted so far will be made.
