Cuban singer-songwriter Tony Ávila to attend festival in Germany

Havana, Jun 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuba will be represented at the international music festival in Rudolstadt, Germany, from July 6 to 9, and singer-songwriter Tony Avila will be one of its exponents there, according to his Facebook profile.

The author of songs such as “Mi” and “Timbiriche” told his followers that he will take his art to this European event along with other musicians from the island.

Meanwhile, the official website of this German festival of roots, folk and world music announces Cuba as the focus country this year with the participation of 10 groups, a symposium and a photographic exhibition.

Opening the festival on Thursday, July 6, will be musician Eliades Ochoa and his group Patria, who will bring “Cuban joie de vivre and Caribbean lightness to the main stage of Heinepark,” according to the Rudolstadt website.

Also mentioned in the program are artists such as Telmary y Habanasana, Cimafunk, Los muñequitos de Matanzas, Yarima Blanco y su son, among others.

Visitors to the Rudolstadt Festival 2023, which premieres an application with an online program, can expect a total of 120 concerts, street music and dance, the source said.

Reviews of the event point to it as the largest and most prestigious in Europe.
