Panama stopped three drug trafficking operations

droga-incautada
Panama City, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) The most recent operations in Panama with the seizure of three tons of narcotics are very important to stop drug trafficking, the Ministry of Security highlighted today. According to an official report, last weekend they managed to seize the illicit substances in the provinces of Colon, Bocas del Toro and Cocle.

The first operation was carried out by the National Police in the eastern province of Colon, where they found 1,5 tons of cocaine inside a container, which were hidden in suitcases that were allegedly introduced in one of the port areas.

According to reports, the drugs were found inside a container coming from El Salvador and bound to Germany.

The second seizure was made in the Almirante sector, province of Bocas del Toro, when the authorities located a shipment of 1,1 tons of cocaine inside a container that was in a dock, coming from Costa Rica.

In another operation carried out in Natá, Coclé province, 300 kilograms of cocaine were found inside an articulated truck and three people were arrested for this reason.

According to experts, Colombian drug cartels have changed their drug shipment strategies and are now focusing on the use of containers to send drugs to Europe.

The report notes that in the case of Panama, the cartels contact local gangs who maintain contact with personnel working in the ports, thus facilitating the introduction of drugs.
