Cuban president deplores damage caused by an explosion in Paris

Paris, Jun 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who is visiting France, regretted the damage caused by a blast on Wednesday, in the fifth district of Paris.

On his Twitter account, the Cuban head of State expressed his condolences for the human and material damage caused by the explosion.

The blast, unofficially attributed to a gas accident, resulted in at least 37 injuries, four of whom are in critical condition.

Several sources state that two people are missing after the blast, which occurred at around 17:00 hours, local time, and caused the facade of the Paris American Academy at Saint-Jacques Street to collapse.

After official visits to Italy and Serbia, Díaz-Canel arrived in Paris on Wednesday to participate as the president of the Group of 77 (G-77) plus China in the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact on June 22-23.
