Russia denies preparing an attack on Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

Moscow, Jun 23 (Prensa Latina) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov described as denigrating the accusations made by Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky about the alleged preparation of a Russian terrorist attack at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

“It is another attempt to denigrate Russia, to attribute non-existent intentions to us and, at the same time, to cover up its criminal, and indeed terrorist, actions, which represent a serious threat to the environment and the population,” the official stressed.

He noted that Moscow is warning Kiev about possible serious incidents at the nuclear power plant: “we again call on the International Atomic Energy Agency and its leadership to record all cases of attacks by Ukraine, and not turn a blind eye to this,” he added.

Ryabkov stressed that it is Ukraine that “allows itself any provocation and puts the largest nuclear station in Europe in serious danger.”

Zelensky previously commented on his notification to the United States, Brazil, India, China, countries in Europe, the East and Africa about alleged intentions from Russia to release radioactive emissions from the Zaporozhye plant.
