Putin and Modi agree to strengthen India-Russia Strategic Partnership

New Delhi, Jun 30 (Prensa Latina) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed on Friday to continue their efforts to further strengthen the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

In a telephone conversation, the two leaders reviewed bilateral cooperation and discussed views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, diplomatic sources said.

Putin briefed Modi on recent developments in Russia, the Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

In addressing the situation in Ukraine, the Indian prime minister reiterated his call for dialogue and diplomacy, the source added.

It was learned that Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev spoke on Wednesday with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval over the telephone about the latest developments in Russia.

They discussed in detail the current issues of cooperation in the field of security and the prospects for deepening it within the framework of bilateral and multilateral formats, according to a Russian Government’s statement quoted by The New Indian Express.
