Cuban President congratulates Caricom for its 50th anniversary

Havana, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated today the member states of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) on the occasion of its 50th foundation anniversary.

In Twitter, he stressed that Caricom has been a great example of integration, and that it contributes to the preservation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

Díaz-Canel sent through this social network a warm and fraternal hug from the Cuban people and government to the 15 nations and the five states associated to the organization.

Also, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, congratulated the Caribbean nations that have celebrated half a century of life on the path of solidarity and cooperation in this block of political and economic coordination.

Thanks to the Treaty of Chaguaramas, in Trinidad and Tobago, Caricom was established on July 4, 1973, and counts with 15 nations and 5 associate members.
