Russia denounces power cut to Zaporozhye nuclear plant

Moscow, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) The advisor to the general director of the Rosenergoatom company, Renat Karchaa, informed on Tuesday that Ukraine disconnected the power line of the Dnieper, which supplies electricity to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

“Today, at 01:07 hours, local time, the Ukrainian Government switched off line 750 of the Dnieper,” Karchaa denounced on the Russia 24 TV channel.

On Monday, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that the plant was reconnected to one of six free 330-kilovolt transmission lines four months later.

The head of the Russian company explained, “The line is operational, but it will be used as a spare, the connection of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant to a backup 330 kilovolt power line significantly increases the level of nuclear safety at the plant.”

On June 23, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Riabkov described as denigrating Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s accusations about the alleged preparation of a terrorist attack at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
