The groups present in the Jenin refugee camp issued a joint statement considering that the withdrawal of the IDF after two days of assaults was a victory.

“The attack on homes and civilians is further evidence of the failure of the Israeli security forces. The resistance will continue to prepare and equip itself at all levels,” the statement added.

The statement was signed by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the Jenin Battalion of the Al-Quds Brigades, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades and the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

The president of the Palestinian National Council, Ruhi Fattouh, affirmed that Palestine has the right to defend its existence and its land by all means against fascism and terrorism Israel practices.

He also denounced the silence of the international community in the face of the attacks and massacres of innocent civilians committed by the Israel military and the Police, the latest episode of which was the offensive against the city of Jenin and the refugee camp, which left 12 Palestinians dead.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh spoke in similar terms, saying that the Palestinian people have the right to defend themselves against the new Israeli aggression. Shtayyeh criticized the United States after statements issued by the State Department in support of the operation, considered the largest in years in the West Bank.

“To those who say that Israel has the right to defend itself, we say: The Israeli army is an occupying army. It invaded a refugee camp, arrested and killed innocent people, and the Palestinian lands are occupied lands,” he stressed.
