El Salvador maintains security environment

Policia-Nacional-Civil-PNC
San Salvador, Jul 9 (Prensa Latina) Authorities of El Salvador maintain the security environment in the country and already registered today 402 days without reported murders since President Nayib Bukele took office.

The National Civil Police (PNC) reported that so far this year there have been 132 days without bloodshed, while so far in July the accumulated total is six days with zero fatalities.

As a result of the Territorial Control Plan (PCT) and the exception regime, the country shows another face to visitors and its nationals, something that was reflected during the celebration of the 24th Central American and Caribbean Sports Games, during which security was also a protagonist.

Both the Police and the Armed Forces ensured that the atmosphere of sports festivities was not disturbed, and this was confirmed by athletes and directors who moved as they pleased through different scenarios in which a year ago people were risking their lives.

The fight against gangs does not stop in the country and this week judicial authorities reported that nearly 200 gang members will be held in provisional prison for at least six months, while the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) investigates the crimes of disappearance of persons, extortion and femicides that they are accused of.

With this result, 41 cases of missing persons, more than 76 cases of extortion, four femicides and other crimes will be solved, according to the prosecutors’ report.

The criminals with gang profiles are being held in the Terrorism Confinement Center and other maximum security prisons awaiting trial and sentencing.
