Santiago de Chile, Jul 10 (Prensa Latina) In 2022 Cuba registered a positive progress in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) after allowing to set up 35 new foreign-owned businesses (FOB), according to ECLAC data.

In response to Prensa Latina, ECLAC Executive Secretary José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs said these 35 FOBs helped to bring in over $400 million.

Cuba´s priority sectors are food production (28%), tourism (18%), oil (16%) and industry (14%).

After works done with the Cuban government, we´ve noticed major opportunities are associated with exports promotion.

Among Cuba’s potential, Salazar-Xirinachs mentioned biopharmaceutical products, traditional exports including nickel, rum, tobacco, sugar, as well as cobalt.
