Lavrov visits Indonesia to participate in ASEAN meetings

Moscow, Jul 12 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, arrived at the capital of Indonesia, where he will participate in the events of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation reported.

Acording to reports of the Ministry, Lavrov will be visiting Indonesia until July 14th.

On July 12th, Lavrov is scheduled to meet with ASEAN General Secretary Kao Kim Hourn. He also plans to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of these events.

Moscow announced that on July 13th Lavrov will participate in meetings of foreign ministers of Russia and the ASEAN member countries, and in meetings of foreign ministers of the East Asia Summit and the ASEAN Regional Forum on July 14th.

ASEAN has become an indispensable global associate and plays a vital and increasingly important role in ensuring peace and stability in the Asian region and beyond. Historically it has maintained good relations with the Russian Federation.
