Heat wave affects all of Syria

Damascus, Jul 13 (Prensa Latina) The first heat wave in the current summer season is affecting most of Syria's provinces, with temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius in some areas.

The Forestry platform of the Ministry of Agriculture raised to red the alert for fires in forest areas in the west of the country.

The temperature in this capital rose on Thursday to 41 degrees Celsius, while in the eastern provinces such as Deir Ezzor, Raqqa and Hasakeh ranged between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius.

The Syrian Meteorological Department predicted that tropical high pressure will affect the country for the next four days and temperatures of five to seven degrees Celsius will rise above their annual averages.

The heat sensation rose, due to the energy situation in the nation, where electric outages reached in most provinces 22 hours per day and 18 hours in Damascus.
