Pyongyang, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) Kim Yo Jong, Deputy Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) rejected a UN Security Council (UNSC) statement on recent DPRK missile launch, ACNC reported Saturday.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday conducted a test launch of a solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

In a joint statement, 10 of the 15 UNSC member states including South Korea strongly condemned the test launch and noted that the DPRK’s 20 ballistic missile launches this year are “flagrant violations of UNSC´s multiple resolutions”.

Kim Yo Jong called UNSC´s statement “unfair and biased”, and accused the UNSC of brushing off the “dangerous nuclear threat and blackmail” by the United States.

Jong assured that the Hwasong-18 solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile test launch is a just exercise that falls within the right to self-defense as a response to the U.S. hostile policy.

“Given the U.S. aggressive incitements beyond its military preparedness, the situation on the Korean peninsula is now heading toward the threshold of nuclear confrontation, so a nuclear war outbreak is not hypothetical but a miserable reality that countries in the Northeast Asian region have to face in the near future,” Jong asserted.

DPRK´s recent test launch did not harm international maritime and aviation security, as it was conducted in the safest way taking into serious consideration the latent dangers that may affect the security of neighboring countries, the senior official said.

Jong also warned the U.S. that Pyongyang will continue to build the “most overwhelming” nuclear deterrent system until Washington gives up its confrontational policy toward DPRK.
