Mexico City, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) 85% of the fentanyl used in the United States is introduced by American citizens, not by immigrants as they want to make it look, as denounced by Mexican Ambassador in Washington Esteban Moctezuma.

Moctezuma and his American counterpart to Mexico Ken Salazar met Friday with other senators to discuss measures needed to fight off fentanyl trafficking.

In this context, Moctezuma proved that 85% of fentanyl trafficking in U.S. is being carried out by American citizens, according to a press release.

Moctezuma explained that he held meetings with senators, Democrats, Republicans and independents in order to analyze measures to combat fentanyl trafficking and to strengthen collaboration on immigration issues.

Fighting off fentanyl trafficking is not a matter of exchanging blame, but of cooperation. For such a reason, Mexico and the United States undertook joint actions such as greater control of precursors and financial intelligence which resulted in a 300% surge in fentanyl seizures.
