Folkloric veneration in Cuba for a Raíces Profundas show

Havana, Jul 21 (Prensa Latina) The Covarrubias Hall of the National Theatre of Cuba will be the venue for the Cuban music and dance company Raíces Profundas's show "Veneración", which will remain on the program during the weekend.

This company is devoted in preserving the most genuine folklore of the island, privileged in each of the group’s presentations, since its founding in June 1975 by the Rumbero Mayor, Juan de Dios Ramos Morejón (1935-2016).

Raíces Profundas represents a group with a background in African lands and also cultivates popular and ballroom dances, together with the traditions of Cuban culture, also with Hispanic antecedents (“bailes campesinos”).

This company offers a wide repertory in which dancers, musicians and singers show interpretative skills of a popular treasure of rhythm, colour and life.

According to the website lapapeleta.cu, on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of this month, this emblematic institution will open its doors to offer the audience the purest of dances and songs from distant ancestral lands.
