This morning, President Guillermo Lasso announced a state of emergency in all prisons in the national territory for 60 days to facilitate the intervention of police and military inside these prisons. The main measure resulting from this meeting was that mayors and prefects will be able to acquire armored vehicles with public resources, although local governments pointed out that there is a lack of resources to implement security actions.
