NATO is determined to defeat Russia, Nicaraguan president states (+Photo)

Managua, Aug 1 (Prensa Latina) Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega stated that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), with the United States at the helm, is determined to defeat Russia in the war against Ukraine.

During a speech on Monday on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Nicaraguan Air Force, Ortega urged to end the said conflict, and affirmed that the only solution is peace.

According to Ortega, another alternative would be for NATO to withdraw and let the two countries in conflict to come to an agreement to achieve peace, since Russia does not aspire to take over Ukraine as it is not one of the objectives of the special operation as stated by President Vladimir Putin.

“(Russia) will claim their territory populated by the Russian population that has been persecuted, murdered, where the rules of the so-called democracy were not respected,” Ortega said.

The Nicaragua head of State explained that just when Ukraine had good relations with Russia and did not aspire to join NATO, there was a “brutal coup with thousands of deaths.”

He pointed out that the war weakens the economies and social stability in the European countries and in the United States, “but so far they seem crazy to believe that it is possible to achieve a victory to bury Russia.”

Ortega assured that continuing in this endeavor is the greatest crime that the “imperialists of Earth” would commit throughout history because they would be the murderers of the human species.

“The message that we send to the peoples of the world is that there is no other way than to defend peace, and that war that the imperialists have been expanding must cease once and for all; that way humanity will have the opportunity to develop in a new world,” Ortega stressed.
