Gerasimov received a report from the commander of the group, Colonel General Alexander Romanchuk, on the current situation, the nature of the enemy’s actions, and the conduction of combat missions in the Orekhov line, the Defense Ministry said.

The Russian officer drew attention on the need to “detect the enemy in time, and carry out preemptive strikes and counter-battery operations.”
