More than 500 Dominican families benefit from housing plan

Santo Domingo, Aug 7 (Prensa Latina) The delivery by the Dominican Government of 494 new apartments in this capital benefited an equal number of families in the municipalities of Hato Nuevo and Las Acacias.

On Sunday, the website of the Presidency informed that in Hato Nuevo, Santo Domingo Oeste, 1,064 houses were built by the current administration of President Luis Abinader, who attended the handing over of the keys to their residents on Sunday.

The dignitary also visited Las Acacias, Santo Domingo Oeste, where 30 families received their houses, built as part of the National Happy Family Housing Plan.

There, Minister of the Presidency Joel Santos informed that another 756 homes will be built, and pointed out that 23 percent of the families are headed by women.

The president also delivered a remodeled educational center in Baní del Toro, Guerra municipal district, Santo Domingo Este, and a daycare center in Los Mina Sur for some 1,000 children who live in Los Mina Viejo, Los Mina Centro, Las Enfermeras, Ambar and Los Barrancones.

In the presence of the president, a basketball court was inaugurated in Punta Licey, Santo Domingo Norte, as well as the Fernandez environmental project, which transformed a contaminated area into a recreation center.
