Ukrainian Army’s losses increase on Donetsk front

Moscow, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 220 soldiers, among dead and wounded, in the Donetsk front in the last day, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov informed on Friday.

At his usual press briefing, the spokesman added that Russian troops repelled an attack by the Ukrainian army in the Nikolskoye settlement, and defeated enemy units near Urozhainoye and Staromayorskoye, in Donetsk, where they annhilated 210 soldiers. In addition, the Russian Army repelled two Ukrainian attacks near the town of Rabotino, and foiled the activities of a sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Zaporozhie front.

Ukrainian losses in that area amounted to 195 troops.

Konashenkov added that Ukraine lost up to 80 servicemen in the Krasny Liman front, as well as up to 75 troops in the Kupiansk direction, and 30 others in the Kherson area.

Meanwhile, Russian Aerospace Aviation Forces shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-25 attack aircraft near the Donetsk town of Verolubovka, and the anti-aircraft defense destroyed 26 Ukrainian drones.
