Biden and Trump to face issues with the Latino vote

Washington, Aug 23 (Prensa Latina) President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, major presidential candidates for upcoming 2024 elections, seem to have some issues with the Latino vote, according to The Economist-YouGov which found Biden registered a 32% "very unfavorable" opinion among Latino voters, while Trump scored 53%.

“Support for Joe Biden among Latinos is falling over the past few months,” said Mark Hugo Lopez, director of Race and Ethnicity at the Pew Research Center.

Latinos do not have a very positive view of Democrats, but it is more positive compared to Republicans, the expert noted on the center’s “The Limitless Daily” podcast.

Neither of the two parties “have a strong connection with the Latinos”, something that, in his opinion, was clear, for example, with Barack Obama (2009-2017) and according to him, the Latino vote will be interesting in 2024.

Other polls, such as one by Axios, reported that a great part of Hispanics believe that neither Democrats nor Republicans care about them.

According to official data, Latinos are the second largest segment of the U.S. electorate, which translates into 14.3% of the U.S. electoral census.

Over 35 million Hispanics are currently eligible to vote, demonstrating the power they would have to define the political destiny of the country.
