The representation is headed by Humberto Camilo Hernández, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and head of the Cadres Department.
It also includes José Angel Maury, coordinator of the PCC International Relations Department for the Americas, and Cuban Ambassador to Chile Mercedes Vicente.
The Cuban officials attended a solemn ceremony at the Hall of Honor of the former headquarters of the National Congress, and then joined the procession that went through several streets and avenues in Santiago on its way to the general cemetery.
At Plaza de la Paz, in Santiago’s necropolis, a farewell to the renowned leader took place with the participation of outstanding artists and political leaders, according to the PCCh.
