Cuba and Cape Verde signed in 2022 a joint statement on bilateral cooperation in education and health, with actions in technical assistance and exchanges in areas such as early childhood education, and care for children, adolescents and young people with special educational needs.

Havana and Praia have kept diplomatic relations for over 40 years, and in 2020 Cuba sent the Henry Reeve international contingent to support the African nation in fighting off the Covid-19 pandemic.
