Israeli police demolish Bedouin village 221 times

Ramallah, Sep 11 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli Police on Monday demolished the Bedouin village of Al Araqib, in the southern Negev desert, for the 221st time since 2010 and tenth time this year.

This morning, Israeli occupation authorities demolished the tents of the residents of Al Araqib, who are deprived of any recognition and are threatened with uprooting, Al Quds news portal denounced, pointing out that in 2022 the community was razed 15 times and 14 times in 2021.

Each time it is destroyed, its inhabitants rebuild it with wood and nylon covers in defiance of the government’s plans and the displacement of their land, the source reported recently.

Palestinian media reported that Israeli authorities harass Arab citizens in the Negev through campaigns aimed at confiscating land, razing agricultural crops and demolishing their homes.

The village of Al Araqib is home to 22 families, totaling some 800 people, who are engaged in livestock and agriculture.
