Documentary on Fidel Castro’s thoughts screened in Brussels

Brussels, Sep 12 (Prensa Latina) The cinema hall at the PianoFabriek Community Center in Brussels, Belgium, hosted on Tuesday the premiere of "Hoy va a hablar Fidel" (Fidel is going to talk today) documentary by filmmaker Jorge Luis Sánchez and presented by Cuban deputy Elier Ramírez.

Ramírez, who is member of the Cuban Council of State and deputy director of the Fidel Castro Cultural Center located in Havana, reasoned that the 27-minute film shows the visionary and premonitory capacity of the revolutionary leader Fidel Castro through speeches on critical issues.

For such a reason, we need to systematize and deepen Fidel´s ideology, and thus bring his thought, work and example to present times, “which we think that the more time goes by, the more it will multiply, and we note its validity in the current junctures”.

The Cuban deputy recalled this was a documentary made for the opening of the Fidel Castro Cultural Center back in 2022, which has already been visited by nearly 200,000 people from 50 countries.

The presentation was also attended by Dr. Rolando Pérez, scientific advisor of BioCubaFarma Group, who explained that Cuba has reached impressive breakthroughs in biotechnology and developed state-of-the-art products such as vaccines and cancer drugs thanks to Fidel Castro´s vision.

Fidel´s premonition was key in this field about how the world works in biotechnology based on innovation, and the cycle of research, development and application of drugs is completed, Dr. Rolando Pérez stated.

PianoFabriek is a multipurpose cultural center that boasts a great number of halls for events, recreational and political activities that has been in operation for over 30 years. It is located in the Saint Gilles hood, a cosmopolitan area in Brussels where immigrant communities from Latin American countries reside.

Ramirez and Dr. Perez are part of a small Cuban delegation that arrived in Brussels to attend the so-called EuroFestivals. Both attended first the Feste do Avante, organized by the Communist Party of Portugal and then in the city of Ostend at ManiFiesta, the Solidarity event of the Belgian Labor Party.
