Nicaragua highly condemns hostile U.S. blockade against Cuba

Managua, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) Nicaraguan Government on Thursday condemned (once again) the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, a policy that President Joe Biden extended on Wednesday for another year.

In a statement, the Nicaraguan government described Washington’s unilateral measure as criminal, while rejecting, condemning the systematic violation of Human Rights against the Cuban people.

The statement added that the U.S. empire dares to continue its aggressive, unjust and genocidal policy imposed for over 60 years in retaliation for the courage, dignity and heroic resistance of the Cuban people.

“From Nicaragua, Sovereign, Revolutionary, Sandinista and Dignified, (…) always free, in fraternal and revolutionary union with the Cuban people and Government, we condemn -as always- this vulgar, rude and systematic genocidal policy the empires imposed worldwide when it is not subordinated to them, to intimidate, coerce and continue destroying homes, families and communities,” the text added.

Signed by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, the document stressed that the criminal disrespect against Cuba “revolts and mobilizes us all”.
