Duringhis tour across the airfield, located about 40 km southeast of the city of Vladivostok, the Kim Jong Un had the opportunity to familiarize himself with the equipment and aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the Sputnik news agency reported Saturday.
In particular, Minister Shoigu showed him a MiG-31 bomber equipped with a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched missile.
The Kinzhal, with a range of 2,000 km, develops a speed 10 times faster than the speed of sound and can evade all existing anti-missile shields. The advanced missile is designed to annihilate aircraft carriers, destroyers and other types of ships.
Kim Jong Un is on a working visit to Russia these days. On September 13, he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Amur Province.
On Friday, the DPRK leader visited two aircraft construction plants in the Amur city of Komsomolsk.
This is Kim’s second visit to Russia. During the first one in April 2019, he merely visited the city of Vladivostok and met with the Russian president on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University.
